More information about Meet Berlage - Amsterdam Center

Fantastic, you’ve found us…
In the bustling center of Amsterdam, Meet Berlage provides you space – reliable and relaxed yet uplifting space where you can comfortably work alone or with others.

Our space, your place
Co-working space, desk space, office space, meeting space and event space: Meet Berlage has it all.

We call ourselves Meet Berlage because it’s our business to make it easy to meet, whether that’s with colleagues, clients, a new network contact, or should you simply need to a place to gather your thoughts. In our name we also honor our building’s eminent Dutch architect, Hendrik Petrus Berlage.

Commissioned to create a new home for the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Berlage designed this property over a century ago. Today a registered historical building, Beurs van Berlage – or the “stock exchange by Berlage,” as the Dutch title translates – is no longer used to trade commodities. But thanks to Meet Berlage, the stately brick edifice now functions as a hub for social and cultural exchanges.

Nestled between Amsterdam Central Station and Dam Square, and only a 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, our location couldn’t be more central. But unlike other venues, our spaces are spread over real estate steeped in rich history. The lingering spirit of commerce and industry that fills these rooms is sure to offer inspiration.

Meeting space

Seeking a place to convene? Our gathering halls and chambers are perfect for meetings, presentations, workshops, trainings and any other assembly you’d like to hold in an enclosed space. Each of the seven spaces has its own unique character, evocative of some extraordinary slice of history – care, for example, to conduct your affairs in the very room where the Dutch Maritime Court once held its tribunal?

Plus, Meet Berlage’s attentive staff are on call to take care of all your meeting needs, from catering to audio and visual aids.

See meeting space options at the top of this page by selecting ‘Meetingspace / training / event room’. For details and pricing or to schedule an onsite visit, please contact us by email info@meetberlage.com or phone +31(0)20-2610903.

Event space

Planning something grand – maybe a conference, a seminar, a wedding or a milestone birthday party? Accommodating up to 100 guests, our lobby is ideal for such a congregation. High ceilings, iconic archways and a wall of windows offering sweeping northern views of Amsterdam imbue this space with a sense of theater, which is apt since it long served as the greenroom of Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.

Plus, Meet Berlage’s attentive staff are on call to take care of all your event needs. Pros at customized service with an understanding of both classic and contemporary tastes, we can help make your event go down in history.

For details and pricing or to schedule an onsite visit, please contact us by email info@meetberlage.com or phone +31(0)20-2610903.

Desk space

You know how sometimes you need a quiet space, tailored just to you. Such as a desk adjusted to the perfect height and a comfy office chair. You’ll find that on the first and second floor, in the good company of various small businesses and local entrepreneurs who rent out offices in the Beurs van Berlage.

Check availability and reserve a desk at the top of this page by selecting ‘Workspace’ and then ‘Desk space 2e etage’. You can also reserve a desk via monthly subscription (starting at two days per week). For details and pricing, please contact us by email info@meetberlage.com or phone +31(0)20-2610903.

Co-working space

Like working in the company of others and on a budget? Step into our convivial lobby and pull up a chair. This ground-level space in the Beurs van Berlage has plenty of work surfaces, good lighting and free tea/coffee and WiFi.

Plus, you don’t pay for your time here – by being present you contribute social capital to the community. This is an ideal setting for flexible workers who are happy to share their knowledge and/or welcome tips from a neighbor.

Reserve a spot at the top of this page by selecting ‘Workspace’ and then select ’Artist foyer’. We’d be grateful if you could help us bring in more like-minded co-workers by leaving a review of your experience (after your visit, you get an email for doing this) and sharing it on social media.

Office space

Does your team need a room of its own on a regular basis? Beautiful and well-appointed, our office spaces can accommodate groups of different sizes and work constellations.

Having an office in the centrally located, historically snazzy Beurs van Berlage is a pleasure in and of itself. Now imagine getting access to an entire community of likeminded businesspeople, entrepreneurs and innovators under one roof.

For details and pricing, please contact us by email info@meetberlage.com or phone +31(0)20-2610903.

A bit of biography

When it came to political views, Hendrik Petrus Berlage was a staunch socialist. The irony of having to design a stock exchange – one of the world’s oldest, dating back to its 1602 establishment by the Dutch East India Company – was not lost on the architect. Upon the building’s construction, completed in 1903, Berlage expressed some wishful thinking on the subject.

He wrote: “I realize this is the most capitalist building in Amsterdam, but once the economy collapses, this stock exchange will become a people’s palace. It will be a place where coming together, sharing knowledge and working with one another most matter.”

Turns out, the Dutch economy did not have to collapse for Berlage’s vision to become reality. The Amsterdam Stock Exchange moved across the square. And Berlage’s high-minded architecture, its high ceilings nowadays complemented by high-tech facilities, has plenty of room for individuals and groups to convene freely and openly.

Note: Entering the building requires walking up steps, which may hinder accessibility for people with mobility impairments. We deeply regret being unable to alter our entrance due to the Beurs van Berlage being a heritage-listed property.
